A waxing Moon 2 days before full in the background lights up the lightly clouded night sky. It seemed to be business as usual on the streets below. Many people strolling by would ask those with cameras aimed skyward what was going on. An American family said they had never heard of such a thing and commented that it seemed quite dangerous as they stared in awe at the often rapid action taking place above.
|
In total blackness the Griffons would race up the Detroit river and suddenly swing a hard left and level off over the Chrysler building only to dart off once again into the night skies. It was an impressive show of Canadian ability in action in our own downtown. This was no air show, these troops were here for serious business.

Canadian Forces Griffons practice over Windsor July 12 and 13 2011. Two stars are present in the closeup photos, possibly in Serpens Caput which is between Libra and Hercules. I wasn't able to place Antares nor Arcturus at the time. The red glow is from Caesars Hotel and Casino.

Sunny summer weekends, a cool breeze and a delicious juicy burger topped with bacon, lettuce, tomato, cheese, mayo, mustard, ketchup, relish and onion. Did I leave something off your favorites list?
